• What do you teach?
Cheek to Cheek Dance Studio teaches Social Style or American Style The dances are categorized as the following: o Swing (East Coast, West Coast, Jive, Hustle) o Latin (Salsa, Rumba, Cha cha, Samba, Merengue, Bolero) o Ballroom (Foxtrot, Waltz, Viennese Waltz, Tango) o Country (Two-step, Shuffle, Nite-Club Two-Step, Polka)
• Will I be the only one my age?
Cheek to Cheek Dance Studio teaches singles, couples, and groups of families & friends ages 9-90
• How long are the lessons?
The introductory private lesson is 30 minutes. All other lessons are 45 minutes unless otherwise specified
• How much does it cost?
The first lesson is always free. Book a private at your convenience or try out one of the group lessons. Please call the studio for our current price list and any specials we may be offering.
• What should I wear?
Unless it is a special event we are very informal. Whatever you are comfortable in is best to start. We prefer "inside shoes" and you will quickly discover which ones work best. As you continue in your dancing you will want to invest in a good pair of dancing shoes.
• Do I need a partner?
Many of our students take lessons by themselves and find that they progress very quickly on their private lessons. Students dance with eachother at group and practice sessions, so it is not necessary to come with a partner.
• How long will it take to learn how to dance?
Everyone is different. Your instructor will have a better idea after your introductory private lesson. Contributing factors are the frequency of your lessons and your participation in groups, practice sessions and dance events. A minimum of 10 lessons is needed to successfully accomplish something. 1 to 5 years is the norm to become a good social dancer.
• When is the studio opened?
Cheek to Cheek Dance Studio is opened all year round, 7 days a week. Whenever you want a lesson if at all possible we will be there! Generally lessons are taken weekdays 10am-8:30pm and weekends Noon-5pm
