Hi everyone. I just wanted to get a notice out to everyone about a new fun, fitness class we are going to have at the studio. Click here for the details and here for more info.
Hello everyone. Just wanted to get the June calender out to you. It will also be posted on the website in a few days. So if it is a little hard to read here, you will see a cleaner version on the site..
The audience was pumped and positive as they watched 55 dancers perform starting with the 9 couples dancing the Viennese Waltz in White Tie & Tails and Ballgowns to "Have You Ever Really Loved a Woman" by Il Divo. Rob & Carrie Morris (Rosters Sports Club) wowed the crowd with amazing acrobatic moves in an East Coast Swing by Colin James. Richard Pierson (JC Bradley Jewellers) had people screaming as he and partner Lacey Myrfield Salsa danced in blue and brown bejewelled latin costumes to "Put a Ring on It" by Beyonce. Shannon Glenesk (Vernon Golf & Country Club) had ladies swooning with his Grease inspired jive number. Dave Hoyte (AE Berry Insurance) spun Ruth McGrath in a Hustle number that would make John Travolta proud. Dean Cebuliak (Digital Dean Photos) demonstrated his hill-billy side in the West Coast Swing with partner Pamela Burns Resch.
Congratulations to Brenda Thorlakson (North Okanagan Hospice Society) and professional partner Warren Eaton (Latinesque Dance Studio) who won the People’s Choice Trophy for their sultry Rumba. Carolyn Grant (Stepping Out Event Planning) and professional partner Jeff Corrigan (Cheek to Cheek Dance Studio) won the Top Hat Award (based on judges scores) for their heart-rending Waltz.
The audience dance lessons of Zumba (Sareena Nickoli) and Line dancing (Celeste Sali) packed the dance floor. 18 Ladies from Cheek to Cheek combined some scarf-twirling technique with their dance medley to "Take It to the Floor". Kelowna dance professionals Jeni MacMillan and Warren Eaton danced a sexy Cha cha. Sharon Sebo and Mark Olney , also from Kelowna, performed an Argentine Tango. The Cheek to Cheek instructors hammed it up in a Foxtrot/Salsa Medley. Later followed by instructors Jeff Corrigan & Ruth McGrath showing their Hustle skills. Sareena Sharma, Lydia Rieu and Lorna Robb ended the show to the drums of Justin Sharma and Tony Tamora in a pulsating Zumba/Salsa number.
The Mark Rose Big Band kept people dancing until the end of the night. A stunning Diamond Pendant donated by JC Bradley Jewellers was raffled and received by a lucky audience member. All proceeds from the evening will be donated to the North Okanagan Hospice Society. The total amount raised will be announced soon.
A special thanks to over 100 volunteers who made this event happen and to the enthusiastic audience from all over the Okanagan. We look forward to seeing everyone next year!
